Finally – Birchbox April 2016

My box has arrived! It has been a bit of a painful month, with my Birchbox being “lost in the mail.” Thank God for their prompt customer service, as they were amazing in making sure that a replacement was sent and delivered ASAP! Now that it is here, I am super excited to share with you all of the goodies that came my way.

The Beauty Crop PBJ Smoothie Stick

My lipstick/gloss collection has been growing tremendously ever since I have started subscribing to various beauty boxes. This month was no different as I have received yet another lip product. This month it was The Beauty Crops PBJ Smoothie Stick. So a few things stood out right off the bat: first – I LOVE PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY!!! People who do not, should not be trusted in my opinion :). So I love this product for the name alone. Second, it came in a bright raspberry shade that I have been looking for all over the place. Win – win for moi! Consistency of this product is another benefit, as it is smooth, soft and definitely does some moisturizing for your lips. Packed with some antioxidants and a healthy does of magnesium, this stick is not just your average lipstick. Extra credit is given for being in a stick/pencil form. Makes it easier when trying to get color into those pesky corners of your lips. This one is a keeper!

Milk Makeup Brow Pencil

Next on the list is Milk Makeup’s Brow Pencil. Since my eyebrows are “jacked up” due to some childhood “accidents”, I go through these like no one’s business. Chanel is my go to, but I am an Equal Opportunity Eyebrow User, so I will give each and everyone one of them a fair try! This guy has a matte finish, smooth gel formula and glides on easily without any extra effort. Extra points for being water proof! A small disclaimer: my sample did not come with a spoolie brush due to its size, however regular sized pencils come with one attached at the other end of the pencil and for me that is the selling point!

Malin and Goetz Grapefruit Cleanser

Not my first time at the rodeo with these guys! I am a fan of this skincare company as their main niche is to provide skin care products for sensitive skin. Packed with natural ingredients, their products are gentle, however they are highly effective and always get the job done! This cleanser in particular is for all skin types. It promises to hydrate as well as tone, so no need for the extra step in your cleansing routine. This product doubles up as a makeup remover as well, so really it is multitalented to say the least. Its formula is non drying or irritating, packed with amino acids for soothing and hydration and grapefruit extract will cleanse and exfoliate naturally. I was also sent a complimentary sample of Vitamin E Moisturizer that works together with the cleanser to bring your skin to its optimal level. The moisturizer is absorbed instantly, contains no oil, leaves no residue and at the same time is nourishing and a great primer before makeup application. It is only safe to say that I struck gold with these samples!

Peter Thomas Roth Acne – Clear Invisible Dots

I have to be honest, I have not had a chance to use this one and I am not sure if it is a good or a bad thing :). Good because that means I haven’t had any blemishes, bad because I can’t really give a first person review on this product. Am I actually looking forward to a blemish? YES! So here is a quick summary of this baby – these are clear, adhesive dots containing .5% of Salicyclic Acid which helps to reduce and heal blemishes, protecting the area and reducing spread of bacteria. Sounds very promising if you ask me!

Obliphica Touchable Hairspray

Only used it once so far and really do not have anything bad to say about it. My hair is pretty flat, so I always look for hair products that are light and non sticky. So far this hair spray checks the boxes. However, since it came in a travel size bottle, I will keep it for travel purposes and stick to my usual hair care routine.

And this concludes my review of my long awaited, lost in transit, April 2016 Birchbox.
