I am starting on this post as I am watching the most fashionable night of the year. I have to admit that I watch the Oscars for that reason alone! This year the Oscars did not disappoint. The deep, rich colors, cuts, shapes and sillouettes are as different as they come, but in all honestly there is not a single outfit that I would deem “Worst”. Fashion is subjective and whatever pleases my eye does not deem universal! So with that little disclaimer I present to you my personal Best Dressed of the 2016 Oscars.
Ryan Gosling gets a spot! Although, he was wearing a classic Gucci Signoria tux, however what made a difference is his white on white shirt and bow tie! Such a clean, simple, classy look, but at the same time it made him stand apart from all the others.
Chrissy Teigen looked absolutely stunning! Wearing Marchesa that hugged her mom-to-be curves perfectly, she took the spot light and rightfully so! Stunning nude with deep red embroidery, deep cut V, and a perfect mermaid style, this dress complemented her figure like no other! Hats off Chrissy!
Back to men and their tuxes. So I will say, put any man in a tux and he will look ten times better, however there are some men that make the tux! Liev Schreiber is one of those men. Maybe it is because he is Ray Donovan, or maybe it is the thin pocket square, I am not sure. One thing for is sure – he is one hunkalicious, dapper babe. P.S. Naomi looked aight.
Charlize in that red, plunging Dior number! Wow! Girlfriend knows how to make it work. The color of the dress, her hair style, makeup and let’s not forget the dingly diamond chain that brought all of the attention to her chest, just all worked together so well! I did not see her on the red carpet, but once she came on stage I was mesmerized by the entire outfit. Clean lines, simple and yet absolutely stunning! You go girl!
Sly Stallone is one of the OG’s and his tux said it all. Navy blue, with black lapels, black shirt paired with a black bow tie – he slayed! Yves Saint Laurent sure went all out for this guy. Definitely one of the handsomest attendees of the night. The fact that he has a gorgeous wife does not hurt either.
Tina Fey turned heads in her Versace Atelier! This dress was so perfect for her body type, it complemented her in each in every way! She looked like a Grecian Goddess. The rich purple color stole the show and the A-line cut drew all of the attention to her shape. Mama looked hot!
Let’s not forget the host! Decked out in a white tux, Chris Rock rocked the house! I am loving the white tux trend! It just looks so edgy, but also so classy and clean. Chris was wearing a tux by Burberry and he absolutelly killed it last night! Spot the Loubs.
Saoirse Ronan’s dress had me salivating! From the color, to the sequens to the cut, this girl definitely knows what she is doing ;). I loved that her color of choice was to match her Irish heritage. Simple, yet stunning, this Calvin Klein gown will be immitated in the next days and months to come. To be completelly honest, if I was to get my hands on it – I would purchase it in a second flat.
The nights big winner, highly anticipated and finally well deserved – Leo was as gorgeous as ever in his Georgio Armani tux and Christial Louboutin lace ups. He looked like a winner the minute he stepped foot on the red carpet. Clean, fitted lines with a black bow tie to match, there was no question as to who the man of the hour was.
Last, but never the least is Lady Gaga. Her Brandon Maxwell, custom creation in true Gaga fashion – stole the show. I am not sure if we can categorize it as a pant suite or a jump suite, but whatever it is meant to be, it was stunning. Fit her perfectly and had gorgeous, defined lines.
So this wraps up my Oscars best dressed this year. What were your favorites?
