Drugstore Beauty Finds – 1st edition!

I thought it would be a cool idea to do post from time to time on some great drugstore beauty finds. Just like my fellow makeup addicts, I am very cautious when it comes to drugstore cosmetics. A lot of the times you get what you pay for, however there are some finds that will knock your socks off! So in my very first installment of Drugstore Beauty Finds I will be reviewing a few items that have made it into my hands by chance and I am so happy that they did!

First item on the list is the Gosh Illuminating CC Cream. I stumbled upon this one because it was on sale, so I figured why not! This is a new brand for me and so far I have been pretty much impressed. As I have mentioned in my previous post, I have made an upgrade from BB to CC cream last month and I couldn’t be happier about it. Why do I like this CC cream? Well for many reasons. Firstly, because it provides a much better and even coverage than the BB cream and I have no need for foundation. One less step at 6.30am for my makeup routine is always a plus! Secondly, my face feels way less oily than before. This CC cream is thicker, with a matte finish – a win-win for someone with an oily T-zone. On top of it all it gives you some glow too. Gosh CC Cream gets two thumbs up from me.

Another “chance buy” was my L’Oreal Colour Riche Collection Exclusive Nudes Lipstick in Jennifer Lopez shade. I was always a fan of L’Oreal lispticks. They never dry out your lips (at least not in my case), quality is always on point and price is pretty “pocket freindly”. I came across this find while waiting online at a pharmacy to pay. Line is long, I am bored and I am waiting in a makeup aisle. So what does one do? Start looking at different makeup products of course. Add the fact that I am a fan of JLo and I was very disappointed in my last nude lipstick purchase and you got yourself someone who is very intrigued by this L’Oreal Colour Riche Collection Exclusive Nudes. So I start looking through the shades and what do you know, there is a JLo shade! YES! I try it, I like it and bam – I buy it. Loving this lipstick and pretty much obsessed with it on a daily basis right now. This is a perfect nude shade for me and I will be restocking as soon as I run out. I will be very upset if this gets discontinued.

My next gem is the Wet and Wild Take on the Day Fergie Eye Primer. Bought it on a whim, as I left my Urban Decay at home that day. I have seen Wet and Wild Eye Primer pop up on a few “Best Drugstore Makeup” lists, so naturally I gravitated towards it. Here is what I have to say about this product : it is definitely worth the money! Long lasting, nude formula is very comparable to the high end brands. When I have to remove my eye makeup, I have to go over twice because your eyeshadow will stay on for days with this primer. So if you want good quality for less, this primer definitely falls into this category.

This might not exactly be a makeup product, but it is for sure makeup related. The Apt. 5 Retractable Kabuki Brush came into my life when I was looking for a bronzer brush that I can carry along with me. Most of the brushes do not have covers, or rather they did not about five to six years ago (Yes! This is how long I’ve had this tool). This retractable Kabuki is so convenient that it goes absolutely everywhere with me. The top keeps it from shedding and from getting beat up during the day to day usage. I also make sure to give it consistent washes, hence that is why it has lasted me this long. So if you are looking for a Kabuki that is great for travel, then look no further.

Last, but never the least on my list of Drugstore Beauty Finds is the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer. I bought this product while I was in search of the best concealer and voila, I actually managed to get a two for one! I do mostly use this for highlighting purposes, which it does a great job of. However, should you need it to hide those pesky under eye circles, this is a perfect product to do that as well. The fact that you apply this via a brush, makes it all that much more appealing to me. This is basically a pen and you can make it get to all the nooks and crannies needed. Another great find for yours truly!
