January 2016 Birchbox Goodies

I am behind – I know! But I wanted to do a quick post on the items that I have received in January from Birchbox. So here is what I got last month.

Key West Aloe Facial Cleanser

Supergoop CC Cream

Vasanti BrightenUp! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator

Cynthia Rowley Pencil Eyeliner

Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle Spray

Key West Aloe Facial Cleanser – absolutely love the smell! It has a lemony, citrusy smell that is so refreshing! Big points for this cleanser being alcohol free. Add the fact that it is 30% aloe and you got a winner! Not only does it not dry out your skin, but it also moisturizes at the same time. I have found it to be very good in make up removal as well, especially any foundation, concealer, bronzer. I like to use it with my Pretika brush, just to get a nice clean finished product and to increase my circulation while I am at it. So would I repurchase this in regular size? Absolutely!

Supergoop CC Cream – another score for me! Tried it and loved it! This one came in shade that is a tad lighter than my complexion, however it evens out my skin tone so nicely that I can completely overlook that. Loving the fact that this CC Cream is infused with Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids that help in soothing any type of inflammation – pimples be ware. Apple extract brightens up your skin and I guess that is exactly what I saw upon my first application. Needless to say, I will be replacing my BB Cream with this baby and never looking back again.

Vasanti BrightenUp! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator – this baby promises three things in one! To brighten, exfoliate and cleanse. I have yet to see the “brighten” part, but the latter two – for sure. Really feeling the tiny grains for exfoliation, makes it gentle on your skin with less chance of irritation or drying when used in combination with a facial brush. Bonus points for this product – paraben and sulfate free, no animal derived ingredients and 99% natural. Will I restock? YES!

Brighten Up! - Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator

Cynthia Rowley Eye Pencil – very creamy, soft and easy on application. Does not pull on skin and no pressure required to draw. Definitely good for my eye shape, size and skin. However, since I mostly use liquid eye liners, and regular ones for my bottom lash only, this eyeliner will last me for a long time. So would I purchase one at this point – no, but it is definitely a brand that I will consider for the future or recommend to others.

Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle Spray – ok here is the thing: My hair is short-ish, pin straight, flat and gets oily by day two. So I cannot really say if this spray is a good detangler, however I can say that it was great at conditioning. Although, I literally had to do 1-2 short spritses, or otherwise my hair would get oily again. So I use this product sparingly, on ends and only in the winter time to protect my hair from the cold. However, I believe that it would be best used on curly, dry, over processed hair in order to reap its full benefits. With that said, I will not be repurchasing this item, but not because it is a bad product, only because it is not the right one for me 😉

What did you guys get in your Birchbox last month? Would love to hear others opinions.
