City Hall

My post today is short on worlds, but full of pictures! About a month ago I wondered off to City Hall in Downtown Manhattan, snapped some pics and now I wanted to share those with you! Take a look, and if you have the time – give City Hall a visit! I promise you will not regret it!

We will start off on Broadway and Murray Street – right off the City Hall R Train station. Before I even proceed further, I highly recomment to snap a pic of this beauty!

If you are visiting City Hall on a Tuesday, you will be treated to a Farmers Market that is stationed right along the park. These guys get me each and every time with their mini pies!

After you finish browsing through the market, take a walk through the park! It is a delight during warm days! Grab a bite to eat, read a book,  or just enjoy the calmness that somehow survives literally in the middle of all the hustle and bustle. Do not forget to check out the Mayor’s office 😉IMG_2738IMG_2497

As you walk through the park you will find yourself on the other side of City Hall, and more likely than not you will stumble right into a performance by none other than the Afrobats – street performers who will keep you entertained for hours!

Afrobats doing what they do best! Making people wait for their performances!

Something else worth mentioning is the NY by Gehry or formerly known as the Beekman Tower. One of the tallest residential towers in the world.

At this point you can go two ways – to Brooklyn or up north Centre Street to check out some landmarks! I say you try to do both! First take a walk to the courthouses, Manhattan’s Municipal Building, City Hall Library and more!

As you keep walking up Centre Street you will find yourself surrounded by many, many courthouses. However, only one is worth the mention! If you are a Law and Order fan – then do yourself a favor and definitely make room for this one!

Somehow, in all of this commotion there is a Catholic Church.

At this point you can start heading back towards Brooklyn Bridge, and maybe this is your opportunity to walk over it! Believe me when I tell you that it is worth the time, effort and exercise! Views are spectacular both off the bridge and on!

At this point I had to get back to work, so I turned around and walked back to the R Train. Regardless, I was very happy that I had this little lunch excursion! I hope that you will consider visiting this site and do share your discoveries!
